Mr. Tackowiak's practice focuses primarily in business
litigation, involving entities and individuals from
a variety of professions and trades such as construction,
property management, real estate, retail, wholesale,
moving and storage, medical care, accounting, insurance
brokers, risk management firms, entertainment (production
companies, editing firms and talent), Internet related
entities, and technological development and computer
innovation companies. He has litigation and trial
experience in handling both professional and business
liability matters, involving employment issues,
risk management, insurance bad faith, malpractice,
construction defect and contractual disputes.
Whether representing a business entity or professional
individual his objective is to provide legal services
in a method that is acceptable from a business standpoint,
across a broad range of circumstances, including
negotiations, contract drafting, settlements, dispute
resolution, and if necessary litigation.
Mr. Tackowiak was the Managing and Senior Editor
for the inaugural issue of the University of San
Diego School of Law's Journal of Contemporary Legal
Issues. This law journal was one of the first law
school publications of its kind to focus on combination
of law and contemporary issues. In keeping with
his commitment to innovation, Mr. Tackowiak is a
Professional Member of the World Futurist Society,
an organization which has as its members many of
today's top CEOs, CFOs and internationally recognized
members of various think tanks, and which serves
to assist in distinguishing world trends. He has
also served as a member on the Committee for the
American Cancer Society's "California Spirit"
and one of the Society's largest annual events held
each year.
Mr. Tackowiak is also a member of the Association
of Trial Lawyers of America, and he also belongs
to the American Bar Association and the Bar Associations
for both Los Angeles County and Chicago.
Mr. Tackowiak obtained his J.D. from the University
of San Diego School of Law. While in law school,
Mr. Tackowiak also attended and obtained a diploma
in International and Comparative Law from Magdalen
College at England's Oxford University. He received
his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison
in 1979, with a dual major in history and political
science. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Tackowiak
was nationally certified as an emergency medical
technician and nationally certified in advanced
emergency vehicle operations. Mr. Tackowiak's diverse
background when combined with his law degree allows
him to provide unique legal service. He is admitted
to practice law in both California and Illinois. |
